The technical part of your ECU!

The ECU (Engine Control Unit) controls the amount of fuel and ignition advance and other parameters that your motorcycle needs to run under any given condition. The ECU does this by monitoring inputs including throttle position, rpm, gear, air temperature and coolant temperature.

Factory fitted ECUs are far from optimal and are developed to allow for a wide range of riding styles, fuel quality and operational conditions. In addition, emission regulations also dictate the standard ECU settings. The result of this is often a compromise resulting in suboptimal performance. Significant improvements can be achieved through correcting the stock ECU’s deficiencies and tuning the engine to take full advantage of it’s potential.

ECU flashing is the process of updating the software that runs on your bikes control unit. This allows you to change various maps and settings and significantly improve the performance of your engine.

What settings can be tuned on my motorcycle?

Below is a list of maps and settings that we may be able to adjust. Please note that features and functions vary between bike makes and models.

To successfully map and re-flash your ECU, your bike will be set up on our Dyna Pro 125LC Dynamometer (rolling road) which is included in the price. You will be supplied with two dyno printouts of a before and after process to show the gains in throttle response however once you take the bike out on the road you will experience immediately the smoother throttle response around town.
